Averiel McKenzie is currently the director of diversity recruiting – U.S. Sales at Gallo. He joined the company in 2013 and has since held various positions starting with field brand manager for Barefoot Wine. His professional experience includes beverage experience with wine, malt and spirits, and sales knowledge across various account types. He’s the executive director of The Veraison Project, a nonprofit committed to creating a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable industry through apprenticeships and its future leaders and bridge program. Prior to his time at Gallo, McKenzie served as district manager at Johnson Brothers Liquor Co. He holds a WSET Level 2 from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and management from the University of Florida.
